About Blogdimension

What is Blogdimension? A multi-platform search engine, targeting the vast and growing universe of bloggers.

Our objective is to become one of the leading reference search tools, facilitating the retrieval of Web 2.0-(like) contents. We increase the choice and search capacity for those who currently use only gigantic “monoproducts” but are becoming ready or are now ready to vary their sources.

We are now proud to present Version 2 of Blogdimension.com! This new version replaces the "alpha" version, first released in October 2005.

The "Alpha" version was an experiment that focused primarily on the French-speaking blogosphere.

Version 2 has evolved: it is still at an experimental stage of development, but is now clearly an operational project. In addition, this release is not limited simply to the retrieval of blogs, but extends its search capacity to:

• microblogs (ie. Twitter), forums and news feeds,
• podcasts (and other audio contents),
• online videos (like YouTube or Dailymotion, other video sources will be crawled),
• images,
• etc. ("etc." is important – new, still confidential, developments are in the pipeline).

Blogdimension.com is an independent initiative developed by passionate bloggers.

It aims to make it easier to access blog-like contents on an international scale, covering both linguistic and cultural spheres. Blogdimension provides more freedom for users who will gain access to a wider spectrum of search engines instead of sticking just to one. Each search engine features its own set of results, so that the use of Blogdimension will generate alternative and complementary results for the user.

In addition, Blogdimension will be a valuable analytical tool for Internet and BtoB users*, enabling them to tap the pulse of the blogosphere and to track the trends and development of this vital aspect of Web 2.0 (* includes research and polling organizations, marketing, communication agencies, journalists...).

Please remember we are still in development phase, so we kindly ask you to be tolerant of the occasional bug or absence of a (re)source that you expect to find in our base. Our index is constantly growing, and debugging is an on-going process at this stage. We are confident that our final product will be of quality and give high user satisfaction.
